Community Involvement

When involved with an organization, Peter works at it, and has often been asked to lead the organizations he has joined.  He has been president or chair of the Bay Area City Attorneys, the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, the Eastern Alameda County Bar Association, the Rotary Club of Pleasanton, Valley Community Bank, and the Pleasanton Downtown Association.

Peter has a passion for downtown Pleasanton, having studied downtowns and what makes them successful.  As City Attorney in 1984, he wrote the Business Improvement District ordinance for downtown Pleasanton.  As Chamber of Commerce President in 1992, he led a collaboration between the community and City to widen the sidewalks and rebuild the streetscape in downtown Pleasanton.  And in many years working with the Pleasanton Downtown Association, Peter contributed to a successful Specific Plan adoption in 2002 and helped re-write the parking ordinance in 2003 to encourage more critical mass of buildings and businesses in downtown Pleasanton.
